First view of Budapest

Hello! We’ve been in Budapest for three weeks now, so it’s the time to share you my first impressions about Hungary.

First of all, when we arrived at the airport which is really more little than Paris Charles de Gaulle, the first view of the city was…surprising. I was not expecting this kind of degradation for a capital city. For example, even if architecturally the buildings looks nice by far, a majority of these are loosing a part of their cover which makes some quarters looking really really weird. That wasn’t what we expected as some people tells us it was a pretty city.

After we arrived at the apartment, we needed to buy some food and other stuffs, then we went to the closest SPAR which is the main brand for shops as there are a lot of these in the city. We’ve found what we needed but there were still a lot of things that we couldn’t find such as beef and some vegetables.

Then we have visited some nice spots in the city thanks to the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) such as the Citadel and its underpass, the Parliament and some restaurants and bars which are really nice looking with a lot of decorations.

The Kuplung and the Instant are one of the most famous bars in Budapest.

To conclude, this is a nice city that I look forward to discover, i’ll keep you in touch in the next weeks for what else we discovered.

Szia!
